How We Teach: We Love to Pluck and We Love to Teach!

Traceable progress and a well-rounded lesson is the name of our game! We teach all styles, ages, and levels with one thing in mind – our student’s success. Thomas Byers Guitar Studio instructs in two arenas, popular and classical.

The Popular Track

The popular track covers most genres from rock to jazz. We utilize many resources that promote studio musicianship, i.e. being able to quickly and fluidly play anything you like. This is accompanied by the TBGS Guitar Levels, a series of levels developed by our instructors which list specific goals that students should accomplish to become well rounded and advanced players.

The Classical Track

The classical track covers the guitar’s long heritage to present. Using useful etudes, literature, and technical treatises from past masters and current virtuosos, TBGS guides classical students towards a high level of musical interpretation, technique, and performance. In both arenas, music reading, proper technique, and musicality will be focused on and applied to guitar music.

Keep in mind that students learn differently. Thus, supplemental materials and teaching styles will vary depending on the student. However your lessons go, you can count on your success and a well-rounded education at Thomas Byers Guitar Studio.

Instructors

Our instructors are hand selected based on education, experience, and track-record. Each instructor focuses on their student’s traceable progress and undgergo continuing education to enhance their teaching craft.
