Thomas Byers

Thomas Byers, the owner and head instructor, holds a Masters Degree in Guitar Performance and Pedagogy from Northern Arizona University. He has studied privately and in master-classes with internationally acclaimed artists such as Ignacio Rodes, and William Kanengiser. Often, Thomas contributes articles to guitar education forums, gives varieties of free guitar-outreach workshops, and researches guitar teaching techniques and philosophy. Currently, he heads the guitar program at Northland Preparatory Academy whom recently received “excellent” ratings from state-wide and nation-wide guitar festivals.

Ben Kammin, Guitar InstructorBen Kammin

Benjamin Kammin, the senior instructor, holds a B.F.A. in Music degree and a M.M. in Guitar Performance degree in finger-style guitar from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Before relocating to the Flagstaff area, Benjamin held teaching positions at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a member of the guitar faculty. He has extensive experience performing and teaching the music of Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges, Billy McLaughlin, and many other finger-style guitar players.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Benjamin has facilitated beginning guitar camps for kids, given beginning and college-level private guitar lessons, and taught courses in music history and music theory. He works with students of all ages.

Jack Dalton, Guitar InstructorJack Dalton

Jack Dalton holds a B.M. in Guitar performance from Northern Arizona University. He has been playing guitar since childhood and has taught guitar lessons both privately and publically for the last seven years.

Jack studied classical guitar, voice and anthropology at NAU. He has also toured internationally with multiple award-winning California and Arizona state choirs. After aiding the creation of a private guitar program at The Crowden School's Summer Music Camp in Berkeley, California, Jack became one of the music theory teachers, a counselor and the sole guitar instructor for the camp.

He continues his education in master classes with many established classical guitarists including Eduardo Fernandez and Sharon Isbin and private instruction in theory and pedagogy. Jack works with students of all levels and ages and provides lessons in classical and popular guitar.
